For example: you want speed within Paris. If a retry fails, the city and speed preference remain selected. If it connects, that alone does not establish faster performance. Both versions must communicate these facts.

These setup controls are outside the proposed products. The example network returns Amsterdam for unrestricted speed, or Paris when Paris is required. Changing the starting situation resets both panels. Changing one panel’s preference affects that panel only.

Inspecting both versions can help refine the wording. It cannot provide an unbiased measure of which is easier to understand: the first version can teach you the answer to the second.

Presentation changes. Options, policy and available evidence stay matched.

The settings version is an authored comparator, not a reproduction of a competitor or the installed Mysterium app. Both have a visible preference selector and the same retry and reset actions. Neither promises that the returned connection is faster.

For a human study, the next step would be to freeze the wording, scenario order, answer keys, assistance and scoring before observing answers. Measure correct understanding separately from confidence, preference and effort. This side-by-side demonstration does not collect those outcomes, and no people have been recruited.

The existing goal-preserving demonstration explores a different question: preserving a goal through retries. This page holds that proposed behavior constant to inspect how it is explained.

Inspect the shared behavior and test boundary

Every action passes through one transition function used by both panels. Preferences survive success and failure. The returned location follows the same scripted rule. Speed evidence is always unknown. These authored rules are not a claim about Mysterium’s current backend.

No answers are stored or transmitted. Page reload resets this demonstration; only the existing appearance preference can persist.
